Shubhangi Swarup is the author of Latitudes of Longing, an international bestseller that was translated in 17 languages and has won numerous awards, like Sushila Devi and Tata Lit Live in India, and the Emile Guimet in France, Openbook in Taiwan in its translated avataars. The French jury describes her work as ‘fiction of nature’ and she attributes her worldview to her upbringing in Mumbai. In a city starved of nature, she dreams of the time it was an untouched island. She has also written ‘Shikaar’, a play centered around chudails, and experiments with short stories and other creative mediums.
